Education & Training.
The Motivation, Change & Transformation (MCT) Group provides Clinical Supervision towards licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia for:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) residents
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) supervisees
All clinical staff at MCT have at minimum two years of post-licensure experience in the field, received professional training in clinical supervision to meet The Virginia Board of Counseling and The Virginia Board of Social Work standards, and hold unrestricted licenses to practice independently.
MCT offers Clinical Supervision in both individual and group formats. The primary focus of supervision will include intervention skills (what the resident is doing in session), conceptualization skills (how the resident understands what is occurring in session), and personalization skills (how the resident uses their personal style). The Clinical Supervisor will provide education, assist with professional development, and support the resident in highlighting barriers to successful and ethical counseling practice. Clinical Supervision will include training and support in the following areas:
Assessment and diagnosis use of psychotherapy techniques
Appraisal, evaluation, and diagnostic procedures
Treatment planning and implementation
Case management and record keeping
Professional counselor identity and function
Professional ethics and standards of practice
Study preparation for the licensure exam
The Motivation, Change & Transformation (MCT) Group also offers education on various clinical topics as well as Workshops and Trainings for the general public and other mental health professionals.
